Interesting mirror and reflection effects, I thought
As bad as this movie is, I still thought that the trouble they went to to make Kane and his followers appear only in reflections (no special effects, just duplication of corridors, rooms, etc) was quite impressive. It was also quite creepy in a few places too, like the art sculpture moving in the reflection, and how when Tom Skerritt's character walks away from Nancy Allen, his reflection is still standing by her for a few more seconds. And the creepiest of all, when the teenage girl sees the reflection of Carol-Anne enter the bathroom as she's doing her make-up, talk to her and then leave, and THEN sees Carol-Anne directly enter the bathroom again and say the same thing, was particularly effective, even if the teenager's reaction was like "errrr, yeah, right, I'll just ignore that."
All in all, some good practical effects in a movie that is just plain bad. And that awful music...!
