Arguably the worst movie ever made?

Although there are a lot of contenders, a strong argument could be made that this is the worst film ever created. Not only is it bad (but oddly has some OK actors) but it also ruins a whole series. I can never see 'Poltergeist' and the not quite as good 'Poltergeist II' without this piece of rubbish ruining it for me.

I'll admit it could have been better, but overall I still enjoyed it.
Not perfect, but still entertaining.

I don't think it's even in the running for earning the worst movie ever title. There's been a whole ton of movies way worse than this one. In my opinion anyhow.

I respect your opinion but I don't know, I really found this film to be a bit mind-numbing and an insult to the series. Still, I have seen 'Escape From Atlantis' which I think is THE worst film ever and '300' had a bigger budget and was more insulting with its lack of quality than this film.

Poltergeist 3 isn't the worst movie ever!
theres lots of other films out there that are a billion times worse than P3

I can understand why so many people especially those who loved the first film (which is an undisputed classic) hate this one but calling it the worst movie ever made....I wouldn't even call it the worst sequel ever made.

IMO, "Jaws: The Revenge", "Exorcist II: The Heretic", "Superman III", "Superman IV", "The Karate Kid III", "Omen IV", all of the "Amityville" sequels, "Batman and Robin" to name a few are far worse than this. I consider P3 quite creative (I loved the mirror effects and possession idea) and enjoyable up intil the horrendous climax (which sucked and they should have reshot the bogus reshot ending).

As far as being the worse movie ever made.... not even close IMO.

I don't think there's even an argument for Poltergeist III to be a contender for the worst movie ever made. Not when there's so much absolute pile of sh** films out there... As the person above said - Not even close.

I don't think you can say that- what's great about the film is all of the effects were live right there on the set, and that's something to be admired

The worst movie ever made is "The Beast of Yucca Flats"
Trust me.

I like this film, while now i think the second poltergeist film is the best but i remember when i was at primary school me and a few other kids reckoned 3 was the best of the 3.

While im a fan of John Carpenters work i have to say in my opinion "Dark Star" is the worst film ive ever seen.

I laugh when people say movies like this are the worst they have obviously never seen manos hand of fate or many films down by the asylum.

Cetainly not a great movie, but definetly not the worst lol! Some of the mirror sequences and the choreography involved are great, but the bad acting and the reshot ending really dragged the movie down.

reply

It's certainly not the worst ever, no... but Poltergeist III is really, really, really bad. The script is just terrible. It's definitely one of the worst sequels of all time, thats for sure. It's a great bad movie, to be sure, definitely entertaining and all that, but still.... just a truly awful film. Carol Anne! Carol Anne! Carol Anne...? Carol Anne...!? CAROL ANNE! CAROL AAANNNEE!!!

Not even close!

How about Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector for worst movie ever?

reply

No, it is not the worst movie ever made. Sure, it may not be as good as the first two, but it was still very entertaining. I had fun watching it. I think bad movies are movies that are completely boring from beginning to end; ones that you can't wait for them to end and ones that you watch the clock more than you do the movie. As long as a movie is entertaining, it is a good movie to me.

Not even close.
It was bad compared to the others, and not a particularly great horror movie. But not especially bad either.

My only real complaint was with the teens.
Were they the ghosts of lovers past or something? That never got explained. They just disappeared.

Plot is the worst I've seen yet. Other than that, it's an ok movie. Certainly not the worst out there.

P.S. What ever happened to poor 'ol Scott? Is he lost in the mirror-world for all eternity? Does he appear behind you when you say Kipley Wentz 3 times in the dark?

reply

Worst movie ever made indeed. But it is the good kind of bad. So *beep* terrible that it makes you laugh hysterically It is for me, going down in history as one of the most awesomely bad movies ever made.

This is nowhere near the worst movie ever, it has a ton of flaws, the acing is a little off and the plot really doesn't make that much sense but it is oddly enjoyable to watch and I honestly think some parts are pretty creepy ( the mirror stuff mostly), I like the idea of a haunted house movie set in a modern skyscraper too that's different and works well in this film

reply

No, this is not even close to being the worst movie ever made. You must have only seen about 20 movies.

There are a number of films that come to mind that are worse than this, like "The Devil Inside" or "Texas Chainsaw 3D".
