CAROL-ANNE? oh my god - this is plain awful.

Yes, its sad that Heather dies before this was released and they had to edit the movie and film the last shot without her. This doesnt excuse why the film is so bad. Unless they actually hadnt shot half the movie (ie the good half).
They should have tried just moving the story onto a different family and actually coming up with a story. This is truly dreadful. Its worthy of a 1 or 2 thats all.

The film was horrible ....One thing which didn't help is they never filmed the ending and was planning to do so but Heather died before they finished filming. After a long break they were going to film the last 17 pages of the end in Feb but Heather died. So they made the ending 3 pages only and ended very abruptly with another girl being held without her face being seen.

Even if the the ending was filmed the way it was suppose to, this movie was horrible. Heather is lucky she didn't see this, the worse of the 3 and Heather looked awful in this film with her blown up cheeks. I think she would had cried and been very embarrassed and disappointed.

The original ending was filmed.

Yep, there are production shots that have leaked online that proved the original ending had been filmed but was just never used for some *beep* up reason.

Yes, the original ending was filmed:

you do know her cheeks were puffy because she was on prednisone, it's an unfortunate side effect

reply

Heather had an illness and the meds she was on made her chubby and cheeks blown up that way

How was it going to end originally?

Did you not clink the link above?

It's in the Trivia section if you want to know.

I remember as a teen hearing rumors that at the end it was really Heather and she was really dead. I never believed it because it. Anyone else hear that rumor back when the movie came out?

The scene where Heather is looking into a mirror is a body double. Movies are shot out of order, so the beginning and ending were probably shot first and the middle was probably shot last. Read it in a newspaper some time ago.

The (original) ending was the last thing they filmed in June 1987, Heather looks very ill/puffy at the start of the movie and I would bet those scenes were first to be shot - I think this movie was shot roughly in order.
