Gotta Luv it !

Does anyone love this twisted-creepy movie as much as I did?

reply

I saw PIn about 15 years ago and thought it was on the cheesy side. I rented it again recently and now I love it in a cult classic sort of way. theres some images in that movie that I am NEVER gonna forget(and the car scene with Mom Dad & PIN is absolutley hysterical!)

reply

Speaking of images you'll never forget, what did you think about the very last shot? For me, that's probably the scariest image in the movie. I mean, I found the whole movie and concept to be disturbing, but that last image...

Major Spoiler, don't look if you haven't seen the movie:

of Leon/Pin's face, I was taken aback by it, and it was the reason I had trouble sleeping after watching it. He didn't even look real anymore, which I guess was the point.

reply

I agree about the last shot. It's very creepy; when it came up on the screen both of the people I was with and I gasped. The movie itself was kind of cheesy and overall not that scary, but that last shot remains with me over 15 years after seeing the movie.

I just watched it last night (bought the DVD from ebay), and it was actually pretty good! I got it because I just love Cynthia Preston (loved her on General Hospital; she was so great at being bad)! I did not think the last scene was that scary or creepy, but of course the brother himself was very creepy and horrible.

i saw this a long time ago and its one of the WORST movies i've ever seen!! *beep* horrible!!!

I sawthis film about 15 years ago and loved it, the story really struck a chord an I will never forget it. The fact that it wasnt popular made it even better.
I bought the book soon after and still have it.
Ive seen copies of the video on E Bay, anyone know if its out on dvd?

reply

Just saw it today for the first time on DVD. Great twisted movie. It may be a little hard to find to purchase, but the two major DVD online rental sites have it.

reply

OK I now people are on about DVD's but unsure if your all on about region 1. The only place I found a region 2 copy is

I've loved this movie since the first time I watched it -- about 15 years ago. Leon is a "modern-day Beowulf in love with his sister." Freak! What a psycho he is! I love it. I've shown this to my siblings and friends, and they get a kick out of it, too.

It's one of my favorite cult-classic-type movies. I've looked to buy it in the bargain bins, but to no avail. And Netflix doesn't carry it, either. Gee, what's wrong with them?? Actually, I can see how any non-twisted thinker would think this was just a weird flick with no redeeming qualities, but I tend to like bizarre films.

Terry O'Quinn is also great in Step-father, and these two movies go well together for a double feature.

"Pin is the best friend you've ever had, and don't you forget it!"

reply

I swear Netflix has it. That's where I rented it from.

i bought this movie on dvd at giant tiger for 6.99 brand new! what a score!!! haha! i remember the cover of it from when i was a kid seing it in "the castle of horrors" at jumbo video. it always creeped me out, so i thought i'd buy it. and hey!! it was just as creepy as i thought it would be! but i loved it.

reply

Yea! Netflix does have it. I don't know why it didn't come up when I searched for it, but I found it under Terry O'Quinn movies. Thanks for the tip.

reply

Enjoyed it. Had been told about it and saw it listed in a book on movies and so I found it on Ebay... great little cult film.

Beware, the Bunnyman.

reply

well, i have this film on old vhs, it has become an inside joke among my friends who have seen this odd film, everytime when some of us says that he has seen a really *beep* film, we ask is it as bad as PIN? and the answer is always the same.....

It's very genuine in the way it depicts mental illness and doesn't go out of its way to make insanity sensational. A very complex movie deserving reappraisal.

reply

To reply to rinnesrain, the nurse scene is where Leon is "talking" to Pin and a nurse comes in so he hides and unfortunately witnesses the nurse using Pin to sexually pleasure herself. *shudder*

reply

Thanks for the response, BillionaireBot. Although now I wish I hadn't asked about it. How creepy! I think I must have repressed that scene! :o

Made in 1988 - just a wee bit early for CGI ;-)
Besides, a CGI-Pin would be contrary to the point.

Cheesy movie, acting so-so, but what do you want for low budget? Entertaining all the same though.

reply

Hi...I saw this movie when I was a lot younger, and I can remember the main story line but not every detail about it.

My question is: what is this "nurse scene" that you refer to? I don't remember this at all.

Thanks!

the look on the sisters face when the brother "makes Pin talk"

the nurse having sex with Pin!!!!!!!

the mother and father in the car with Pin

Pin "chasing"(?) Leons date around

The ending

Good times, good times!

Truly one of the great neglected horror movies of the 80s.
