jojo sings as babysitter

what language and song does jojo sing when putting the kid (that whats-her-face babysits all the time) to sleep?

She's singing in Portugese, that is her heritage, but as a native english speaker it makes sense that she "butchered" the language, as a previous poster put it. I don't know what the song is, but it's pretty anyway.

Most of the original families are of Portuguese decent in Stonington, Ct.

The song was a lullaby. The words were meant to be melodic--not precise Portuguese. It was a song of sounds, not language.

"

papai foi na roça mamae foi passeas
bicho papao sai de cima do telhado
deixa esse moleque dormir sossegado "

Go to sleep little baby that the cuca* is comming to get you
Daddy went to the field, mommy went walking
Bogeyman get out from the top of the roof
Let that brat sleep soundly

*"Cuca" doesn't have a translation because is a portuguese and brazilian folklore name for a female alligator that kidnaps desobedient little kids.

I hope this answer your question.
