I never bought the Charlie and Daisy relationship

Those two would of never hooked up in real life, even if he was looking for a way to shake up the family as Daisy pointed out to him. I doubt he would of stayed with her after he accomplished his goal of using her to initiate a fight with his dad. They just come from two different worlds and I would think it would be really hard for her to run in his circles if they did infact keep on dating. She looked so out of place at the Windsor's dinner table!

Opposites attract maybe, in the movies as well as real life sometimes. Maybe Charlie was looking for something outside of "his world" or his expected life path. Or maybe he was just smitten with Daisy from the first time he saw her in the pool hall. Stranger things have happened.

True stranger things have happened. Who knows, maybe it could of worked out.

I love it when guys who have to date ugly guys OR girls, make the statement "Those two would of never hooked up in real life, . . ."

IMO it would've worked but I don't think the actor played the character the right way. He came off as spoiled preppy kid rather than the rich kid who basically says F-it to what his family thinks he should do. I've had friends like that in college and they're never the preppy types.

What a rip-off of Love Story.. The Charlie guy is so unattractive by today's standards. Why were skinny little wimpy guys like that all the rage in the '80s? Was it just the money? Eww, even that is pathetic because it was trust fund money.

Charlie is not unattractive at all, he was incredibly handsome and would still be considered handsome today. And FYI skinny guys are still all the rage. Muscles do not equal physical beauty.
