There was one planned.It was called Return To Mystic Pizza.I have an old movie schedule sheet that they give to theaters for movie release dates and this was on there.I believe it was around 1990-91.Funny thing is there was a sequel to Midnight Run on there as well.And that never happened either.
shareI think they knew even then that there was no way they were going to get Julia Roberts again. So the sequel fell apart. I'd love to know what the story was going to be, though.

Kat is a professor of Astronomy at a local university. And did Daisy end up with the rich guy? I would love to find out.
A side story could revolve around the reality that the lobster business is no longer in Mystic due to climate change. Sad but true.
I hope they'd bring back Vincent D'Onofrio as well as the three leading ladies.
Joanna Merlin is still alive, but her last project was in 2020, and she's about 91/92 now, so I don't know how feasible it would be for her to return, and unfortunately Conchata Ferrell died a couple of years back.
They should also get Matt Damon to do a cameo. Maybe his character could have a relationship with Julia's character, just like his older brother did.
Julia would be more likely to make the film now than she would have during the 90s. In fact, she was part of a reunion, I believe for Entertainment Weekly, a few years back.
shareIt was rumoured that it was going to start with Daisy's funeral (which is how they'd get around not being able to bring back Julia), but it was probably for the best that it never happened. It sounded a bit morbid.
shareI wonder how Daisy died? Consider she was a bit of a wild child, it could have been anything. I think they did the EW reunion in 2016. It might be on YT. Are the other two actresses still acting. Did anyone watch American Saints with Lili? I recall back in the 90's, it was popular. I hope I can find d it on DVD.

I don't know about Daisy's hypothetical death. I can't even be sure that the screenplay exists for the sequel (although it's highly likely it does, since I read an Empire Magazine excerpt circa the early-to-mid 90s which said the sequel 'was happening', and by-and-large those rumours turned out to be accurate, although this was a rare one that wasn't).
