Movie 'Waitress' (2007) With Keri Russell is a Rip-Off

Ever notice that the movie "Waitress" with Keri Russell, which came out in 2007, is very similar ?

That one also has 3 young women working as waitresses, and both films involved their romances

There, instead of pizza, they work at a place that makes legendary pies

There is an eccentric owner of the restaurant, in that film, a man played by Andy Griffith; here, it is a woman

In both films, one of the women has an affair with a married man

Both films had one of the characters desperate to get married, and the films both ended with a wedding scene at the restaurant

Ripoff is a strong word. How about "influenced by" instead?

I agree with JR. ALL art comes from something before it. The few similarities mentioned covers an awful lot of movies!
And poor Adrienne Shelly. She wrote and starred in the movie, and was raped and murdered by a laborer in her office 6 months later. Heartbreaking!

I see how there similar but in waitress they were all grown women. In this they're young girls just kinda screwing around having fun. And in waitress Keri Russell takes her jobs seriously and is pregnant. In mystic pizza the girls don't take there jobs that seriously and no one is knocked up. I also think that in this the male characters are much more prominent. Where in waitress it's really only the Dr and her husband. Both great films

I've not seen the 'Keri' one but, am I correct that she's not in a relationship and knocked up? Plus an older woman has an affair with a married man?

How is that taking things more seriously and not screwing around?

I have seen both and I would never compare the two in this way. "Waitress" is the better movie.

Totally wrong, the girl in Waitress was in an abusive relationship, was pregnant. Come on.
