Why the big female fanbase?

Just from flicking through these posts it seems this film has a higher than normal female fan-base. Was just wondering if anyone knew why?

probably the fact that we all just adore that cute monkey. Or maybe some of the ladies adored the lead guy.Still it was a very good film,very gripping.

The exercise shot of the lead actor is worth the price of admission alone.

Omg this totally made me chuckle out loud. Yup Jason beghe was soo hot in THIS movie mmmmm:P haha
