That nurse should have been fired.

Did anyone else want to slap the sh_t out of the nurse that was hired to take care of Alan? She was a horrible person. But what surprised me was that no one fired her, even after all of her awful comments. Like when Melanie came over and asked if she was the nurse and she said, "God has given me that burden, yes." I don't know about you, but that would have set up some red flags for me.

And the mother. When the nurse comes out and starts screaming at Alan about her bird and the mother doesn't defend her son. No, she doesn't do anything until she quits.

I'm sorry, but when a nurse is hired to care for a disabled person and they start acting resentful towards the person they're taking care of, that's something that needs to be remedied.

Yeah, seriously. She made me angry the whole time I was watching the movie. Sorry honey, but this is your JOB that you are being paid to do, and part of the job description is compassion for your patients. If she didn't want to perform her job, she should have quit earlier.

Yeah, that nurse was such a cow. I couldn't believe the stupid stuff she was saying! She was really not suited to assisting a disabled person on that level.

I was rather surprised she made it out. I'm sure that part of it was due to the fact the actress is Romero's wife, and he didn't want to kill her on-screen, but I thought she was a far worse character than Geoff, who wasn't a saint, but was genuinely trying to help Allan, at least partially.

I love to love my Lisa.

Agreed, I was so surprised not only that she wasn't fired by Allan or his mother but that she survived.

I agree, and there are always openings for experienced home care nurses like that. If it wasn't working out, and she was not happy were her job, she should have moved on. Her behavior is not acceptable for a person hired to come into his home and care for him.

Frankly, Marie Anne and the Mother were both pretty horrible people. I felt bad for Alan. Neither one of them seemed to grasp the fact that he has to adapt to a new way of life and the struggles that follow. Both of them were very self-centered people.

I'm just a guy that likes horror flicks.

Cannibalcraig, you are so right. Back 2012 I had to adjust to being in a wheelchair and while I have full use of my arms that was touch in go for awhile and it is a massive adjustment. It took awhile for me to get even close to where I was before and this was mostly after my arms recovered and became fully functional again. I can't imagine where I would be (situation wise) if they hadn't.

Did you see her in the opening scenes, sitting on the couch during the party with her legs open? Right there I thought "this is going to be a bad movie".

I'm pretty sure, in real life she would've been. The only thing I can think is that she's the best they can afford since, when she quits his mother moves in and says "it's the only option".

Money is the only thing I can think of. Given her attitude she's probably been fired from every nursing job she's had and this sort of thing (and undercutting the standard pay scale) are probably her only options.

On another note why the hell she thought it was okay to allow her bird out in someone else's house (even if she was living there) is beyond me. IF she was going to do that she should've at least kept it in her room and collected it the minute it slipped out of her room.

She wanted to take about the monkey. Birds, when not caged, will poop anywhere including on people in the area.
