New Zealand????

In the ending credits it lists "New Zealand crew" and also in the Bonus features the director mentions filming in New Zealand. . .. I kept this in mind but don't recall any scenes that were in New Zealand or why it was listed in the credits or talked about. ???? What was that all about?

they filmed some of the river scenes in New Zealand.

Wikipedia states that they filmed the river scenes in New Zealand because of the extensive time needed for the actors to be in the water. The rivers in Arizona were deemed too cold.

Yeah, that's what it said in the Trivia Section.

So they flew them to New Zealand to film the river scenes cause the rivers in Arizona were too cold? Huh! That makes sense. Couldn't they find a nice river in the US?

There is an entire chapter devoted to Midnight Run in Grodin's book, It Would Be So Nice If You Weren't Here. He discusses the trip to New Zealand at length in the book. As much as I love Charles Grodin, he comes off as a bit of a whiner in his memoir.
