Midnight Run: Most Cigarettes Smoked in a Movie

I couldn't keep track. Marvin, DeNiro and Yaphet Cotto had a cigarette in every scene.

reply

I agree.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think they went pretty apeshít back in Ghostbusters too.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

State Of Grace (1990) is non stop smoking.

reply

As a former smoker of nearly three years now this movie still triggers me to want to light up. Nothing in real life does. Just this movie.

reply

Back when this movie first came out, in 1988, it didn't seem strange at all, but it does now.

reply

Yes it does.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

According to another member, 43 cigarettes are smoked. What I noticed the first time I watched this favorite are the number of f-bombs. It came out in a day when foul language in movies was still somewhat in an infancy, so I thoroughly enjoy how free the language is. Not that I normally like to hear people talking that way, but the dialog is hilarious to me.

You should all watch Payback, Fight Club, and also Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction and Casino.

reply

Payback, oh yes. (And a personal fave.) I've seen Pulp Fiction and yes, there are more than a couple cigs in that one. I've seen Casino but I don't really remember it much, maybe because I didn't care for it much. I haven't seen Jackie Brown because I'm not all that big on Tarrantino, really, but I'll watch it if you insist.

reply

And while we're on Scorsese, we should also watch Cape Fear, Goodfellas, and even The Departed.

reply

Funny, I just finished watching The Departed again. How about The King of Comedy? Seen that one?
