Am I the only one...

...who was absolutely TERRIFIED by this movie??

Camp fun it might be, but I was really young when I first saw it, and I have never been able to shake the image of Amanda Donahoe as a reptilian vampire from my subconscious!

No, you are not the only one, but it was not Amanda Donohoe as a reptilian vampire that scared me. It was the scene, where Kevin (Chris Pitt,) the boy scout or the scout in the film, is trying to thumb a ride in the rain. As soon as I saw him standing by the side of the road, I knew what was going to happen to him. Someone would pick him up, take him home, rape him, and then finally murder him. And I was right.

What I don't get is how they got the Kevin actor to go through the things he did for the bathtub scene. It's not exactly something anyone would be proud to put on their resume (which may explain why he hasn't appeared in many other films).

When darkness overcomes the heart, Lil' Slugger appears...

I'm not an expert, but I imagine it is not too hard. When the role is first cast, the casting director tells the young actor or actress what is expected of them, then the actor or actress can agree to do it or turn down the part. While it is unusual to see such an young actor in the part, underaged actors and actresses have done even more, including full frontal nudity.

He was suppose to do more for the part, for if you believe what the director says, when Chris Pitt, who played Kevin in the film, interviewed for the role, Chris agreed to do a nude scene for the film. (One wonders what he would have had to show and for how long.) Of course, when it came time to do the nude scene, Chris--at the last minute--refused to do the scene, even when he was offered more money to do it. So, what you don't see, is that Chris is wearing his underpants, when he is in the bath.

As for his career, he had a fairly successful one, in comparison to some other young actors: seven films, four TV series, including a regular role in one, one movie made for television, and one television miniseries. And that would be between his first role in "Bleak House" in 1985 and his last role in "The Krays" in 1990.

But, like alot of young stars, most of whom don't continue their acting careers into adulthood, when they reach their adult years, and I believe he was born in 1971, as he looks about 17 in 1988 and "Lair of the White Worm," they drop out of the film business, or, at least, out of acting.

If anybody wants to see more of this young actor, probably the best bet would be to watch him as Odo in "Lionheart," where he actually has more time on the screen than in this film.

If he was born around 1971, he would be 35 in 2006. Thus, I believe he would still be alive today, but other than that, does anybody know what happened to him?
