shareYes, but this is only indirectly from my memory, as I don't have the direct quote.
When Hugh Grant made a suggestion on how one of his scenes should be changed in the film, Russell called him: "A *beep* And to do the scene as it was written.
Of course, Grant's opinion of Russell was not much higher. Saying Russell was drunk much of the time the film was being shot.
Which is why, unlike many of the other actors in the film, who would later work with Russell again, Russell and Grant would never make another film together.
didn't know it before. thanks a lot. I only knew that some kinda interviewer asked Hugh something like "oh, and at the end I wanna tell you my boyfriend loved you a lot in The Lair of the White Worm" and he answered "oh, yeah, drug addicts love that film". and again, thank you.
shareAnd you're welcome. If you have anymore questions, just ask, and someone will try to answer them. This is probably not the greatest film you'll ever see, but it has its interesting moments, and I think it is often underrated.
sharelet's say it was very "different", original film. I don't have any other questions but that quote by Hugh made me think that maybe something happened between him and co-star or director. I mean yeah, he's always making fun of the people he worked but when he said it, he looked like he really had a bad memory about it or something. at least I thought like that. If I remember correctly, he mentioned the film on one of his press conferences as well.
