Picture quality on R1 DVD
I've got the R2 Shriek DVD, but the transfer looks like it's from a dodgy VHS tape. Is the R1 Wizard entertainment one any better??

Well I can sorta help you out, I've never seen the release you have but I have seen 2 versions. A Dragon (German I think) release and the R1 Wizard.
The Dragon edition which was really dark and a not so great picture and the R1 which, while the picture isn't perfect it's much better. The picture is a lot brighter than the Dragon release that's for sure.
So if you're version is very, very dark and murky looking I suggest you give the R1 a whirl. Like I said, not a perfect "DVD quality" picture by any means but it is good enough to enjoy without being bothered by crap picture.
The picture quality on the region 1 is pretty bad as well. Don't bother picking it up if you have the region 2.
shareI own three different DVD releases of this excellent slasher flick; US Wizard Entertainment, UK Screen Entertainement/Shriek Films and German Dragon Film Entertainment, and the US (R1) release by Wizard Entertainment is definitely the one with the best video transfer.
