If someone watches the new region 4 release could they post info on the aspect ratio. It's listed everywhere as 1:85:1, but every other DVD release around the world has been fullscreen.
I guess this is probably a mistake because I would say that the region 4 is just a copy of the region 1 (which was fullscreen).
Anyway if anyone could shed some light on that it would be appreciated.
Yep I picked up the DVD at my local jb hi fi so prepare to be disappointed. Despite the fact the box saids 16x9 enhanced it is the same 4:3 transfer the R1 disc uses. The video is obviously from VHS source material so yeh , don't order this edition if you already have the region 1 disc, exact same disc. But for aussies its a good chance to own it locally, anyway just wanted to clear this up.
shareThanks for clearing that up. I was looking everywhere trying to find out if the company had just stuffed up the information about the ratio. I doubt there will ever be a decent release of this brilliant movie.
shareWait actually I just watched it and this version is CUT!!! sam raimis meathook scene cuts away to showing his legs dangle then the aftermath, i did notice a few other scenes felt a bit short and it only runs 82 mins. I'll have to contact big sky video direct bout this issue as the box clearly states "directors cut".
