I just bought the hard gore brand version of the film, it says uncut on the box,the band saw and head crushing scene is fully uncut but in the trailer i saw an extra scence where sam raimi's character is put on the meat hook and it shows the hook entering his chin and blood coming from his mouth but in the movie itself it does not show this.does anybody know why this is?

I know why this is. I have the Special Edition DVD from Dragon Films which features deleted scenes. There are only two official versions of the film, R-rated and edited and Uncut and Unrated. Even the Uncut and Unrated version misses out on additional gore for both the meat hook and bandsaw murders. The bandsaw murder only features local sound but the meat hook murder is longer with complete sound. The uncut version you have is the closest thing to a completed version with those deaths in-tact. What you saw in the trailer is a deleted scene not featured in any uncut version on the planet.

The meat hook scene looked too fake and the band-saw scene had crappy audio.
