Was this film a giant advertisment for Coca-Cola??!?

I bought and watched this film recently. I am a huge fan of the Werewolf genre and thus when i was in England recently on a business trip and saw "Howling IV" on DVD for only £3.99 i thought 'what could go wrong?'.

The answer is ALOT!

The one of the things that annoyed me most of all was that a cult genre of film so blatantly sold out to one of the worlds most corporate monsters (Coca-Cola). Most of the product placement in films you wont even notice are product placements. BUT NOT IN THIS FILM!! When ever any of the main characters in the film are at, in or around the village shop there is a Coca-cola sign in plain view (in almost every singly shot!!!!), and indeed most of the shots are centered around a Coca-Cola symbol that is in the background.

They even stoop to the low of having Janice and one of the shopkeepers sit down under a massive Coke sign while they crack open two bottles of yes you've guessed it.......

This really annoys me and is a shame that this has happened in a Werewolf movie.

Why do you have a problem with Coca-Cola guy? I love Coke man! I would rather drink Coke than Pepsi because Pepsi is a awful thing to drink! The reason why I know this is because I use to work for Pepsi about 12 years ago and I will not forget how they treated me there or the trouble that they caused me!

So if you were to come to my place guy to have something to drink all I will have is water, ice tea, Coke or beer and that is it! In my apartment you will not find a single can or anything of Pepsi at all!

That is great that the people who created the movie was doing some fee advertising you know! Now how does that look at a movie theater who sells Pepsi? I would have to say not very good you know!

So COKE ROCKS!!!!!!

I'm sure that neither company is "better" than the other in terms of treating their workers. So even if you worked at Coca Cola insted you might have had the same experience.

Though I haven't watched the movie yet (it's in my DVD Collection), so I don't know how obviously bad the ads are. I'm quite sure that they didn't do it for free. Either CC sponsored the movie, or somebody who produced it had connections to the company.

Nobody does free advertising.

Well I honestly think that Coke is better than Pepsi. Possibly I might have had a different experience with Coke than I did with Pepsi. Who knows.

I am not sure because it has been quite sometime since I have seen this movie so I could not tell you. Yes you are possibly right that someone had connection to the Coke company.
