Love this movie but....

Why didn't they make it closer to the book? Seriously... how hard would it have been to give the people in the movie, who are basically the same characters as in the book but with different names:

Sheriff in movie: Anton Gadak in book
Janice in movie: Inez in book
Marie in movie: Karyn in book
Richard in movie: Roy in book
Old couple who run store in movie Mr and Mrs O: The Jolivets in book
Dog in movie a poodle named Pierre: A miniature collie in book named Lady
Tom in movie: Chris in book
Eleanor in movie: Maricia in book
Paula (girl hiker)in movie: Pam in book
Dr. Heinemann in movie: Dr Volkman in book

Let's see...what else? Oh, in the movie, she starts going insane which is why they move away. In the book she is raped.

Seriously, how the heck hard is it to actually use the names and events in the book? There's no mention of the bell tower in the book. The only things that the book and the movie have in common are the name of the town and the fact that they are both about werewolves.

I suppose that they didn't use Karyn for this one since they used it for the first one. To me, this one is the best out of them all. They should have followed the books more closely and they would have had a better trio of movies than the joke they have currently.

Anyone else read the books and agree?

I am not a troll, but I believe in them since I see them every day on IMDB.

I enjoy this movie too. I haven't read the books but I know the original is 34-years-old so I wouldn't be surprised if it comes time for a remake soon. Maybe they'll follow the book more closely if they do.

While it is not a great movie, it is one of my guilty pleasures. Probably because it is much closer to the novel than the first The Howling movie.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!
