Does this song exist out side this film? I've been searching for weeks trying to find a copy of this song... the closest I get is, The Five Du-Tones: 'The Cool Bird' ; which is just a revamp of their 'Shake a Tail Feather'. Maybe their sister group The Duettes cut this record? Please, help this John Waters fan! Thanks!

It's definitely the Five Du-Tones, and you can find their song "Shake a Tail Feather" on the "Hairspray" soundtrack. I have an MP3 of it on this very laptop. If you have a file-sharing program like BearShare (that's what I use, and what I found the song on), it's really easy to find the songs from this movie.

Yes, it certainly does exist. The film credits got it wrong - It was actually released under the name "The Dutones" on the Columbia record label.
