DVD commentary is very sad
At the end, when he talks about Divine, I almost let a tear down my cheek. John Waters is fantastic at doing commentaries, I love hearing him speak. Never a dull moment.

shareYes, it's extremely sad, but it's kind of, I dunno-- sweet, the way Waters talks about visiting his grave. I really love that commentary-- just wish there was interaction between John Waters and Ricki Lake.
"This? This is my over-the-moon face."
She will be missed.

What I really hated about this DVD commentary was the fact that he and Ricki did it separately. It caused such a disconnect in hearing it.
shareI just rented "Polyester" from blockbuster.com. It was awesome ... and so was John's commentary!
Have you heard John's commentary on the "Mommie Dearest" DVD?
"FRA-GEE-LAY. That's Italian!"
"I think that says 'fragile', honey."
Really? I want to hear the commentary.

The Mommie Dearest commentary is funny sometimes, but he talks about Divine waaay too much.
Hey kids rock and roll. That's how I lost control...
I agree;
I never listen to commentary tracks of movies cuz I find them dull and boring,
but John really has interesting things to say.
Of all his movies I listened to his commentary and I loved it.
You ought to hear the commentary for Polyester. It's even funnier than the movie!
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
I never understood commentaries. Who wants to watch a movie that has someone talking over it right the way through? Stick with interviews and behind the scenes/making of documentaries and leave it at that.
