help for a UK viewer....spoilers

It's been a while since I've watched this film (probably 5/6 years or so)

I don't know which copy of the DVD I have, it may be the original or US version.

Anyway at the end Jean Marc Barr jumps in the water and swims off with the dolphins. So could anyone be kind enough to tell me which version this is.

Also, when he swims off does that means he dies? I know I sound dead thick asking this but it has been a long time since I saw this film and I am baffled.

That is the ending scene. It is included in both the 3 hour cut and the 1.5 hour cut.

Europe: We don´t know if he died, or if he returned. The ending is left open for interpretation. (my prefered version)

USA: Mayol marries and lives happily and blah blah blah (Happy ending for the Yanks)

Is the happy ending Bill Conti score widely available. since I'e seen the other two version would like to see that one too.

i hate the american ending. the european ending is so much more beautiful. i think that the ending really makes the film, in this case, and with the american ending it would be nothing.
