Villa Location?

Any fans of this movie aware of where the Michael Caine's villa was? I know whereabouts: Villefranche, Cap d'Antibes, Juan-les Pins etc. I know they featured the Grand Hotel in Villefranche, but I'm just wondering where the gorgeous villa was. I always watch reruns of this flick just to see the house & fantasize. Thanks in advance if any eagle-eyed riviera rats can point me in the right direction.

Me too!
Can't help you much I'm afraid with your question though!
I love this villa -I love the views, I love the pool, I love the private beach!! sigh!
I love Lawrence Jamieson ,I Love Freddie ,I love J the Jackal!
My favourite scene is Freddie trying to remember Lawrence's name in jail.... or is it Ruprecht weeing at the dinner table??? or Janet revealing herself at the end and making Lawrence into Mick Dundee! (I'm Aussie!)
What the hell -I love all of this film!

Lorilen,

i've read somewhere that the villa used in the movie is located in 'Bay of Millionaires' - Cap d'Antibes.

not sure if this helps but it's all i could find.

Yeah it's Cap D'Antibes. Most of it is in Villefranche-Sur-Mer. My favourite place on earth!

The external shots of Michael Caine's Villa and some internal shots were filmed here

A relative of the Rothchild's built it at the turn of the last century. I'm afraid you'll have to get in line as I have already put down a holding deposit, we are just waiting for the survey to come back. I mean what you can get for $100k these days is amazing.

Please note : i am of course referring to the purchase of the bench at the end of the garden used in the last scene!

In the movie, it is depicted that it takes place in "Beamont Sur Mer" Is this a fictional place? Thanks.

I too am a big fan of the villa used in the movie. For many years it was my favorite movie because of the villa. Doing some "searching" online via windows live local, and having just re-watched the movie, I feel with 98% certainty that this is the villa:

If you are unfamiliar with the "bird's eye views", make sure you click on the compass directionals (N,S,E,W) to view the villa from the different angles.

Also of note, the villa is on "Beaumont" street. Possibly the name of the town in the movie was a nod to the address of the villa.

a-teague, ad far as I remember it's not actually his villa in that scence. He brings him to the gardens/building that he helped finance.
