Favorite lines?

Hey, what's everyone's favorite lines from DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS? List as many as you like. Here are my favorite lines...

(Freddy Benson as Ruprecht) Excuse me. May I go to the bathroom first?
(Lawrence Jamienson) Yes you may.
(Freddy) Thank you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

(Arthur to Freddy) Welcome to Hell.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Freddy running around and banging his pot) OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! Etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Freddy) Great. Thanks. Thanks a yahoo!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Freddy) Oh, Lawrence! This is the happiest day of my life! I think my testicles are dropping!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Freddy) I got culture coming outta my @$$.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Lawrence) Freddy, don't you ever have an thought that originates from above the waist?
(Freddy) No!

reply

Okay, how is it that no one has posted this line, the best line of the whole movie and one of my favorite lines from a movie ever--

"I was with another woman. You're French; you can understand that."
"To be with another woman, that is French. To be caught, that is American."

I love the whole Ruprecht eating scene.

"Ruprecht, eat your apple sauce."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heh. Yeah. Especially when Ruprecht spits the applesauce out. That scene cracks me up.

The part that makes the "cork/fork" dinner scene funnier:
He has a cork on his fork to prevent him from hurting himself....and others, and yet he's allowed a trident at the dinner table, which is essentially a giant fork.

The whole movie cracks me up. One of Steve Martin's best. Plus I'm from Oklahoma, so I die laughing when he runs around the room yelling.
And no everybody does not talk like that woman does.

I've been going to this high school for seven and a half years. I'm no dummy.

love the scene in the dining car at the beginning too when he gives the 'gram grams' speech- "it is always better to be truthful and good....than to...not"

"2 beers (you wanna beer?) 3 beers..."

reply

"Ruprecht, have you been banging your pots again?"

Janet . . . thank you . . . Hahaha! Number One! Number One! Number One! Number Wow!

Arthur I'm sorry I broke your VHS player. I want you to give me the make and model number, as soon as I'm settled I'll send you a check.
Oh shut up!

Of the lousy . . . She is disgusting, she is lying, she is decietful, she is conniving, she is two-faced AND SHE IS DISHONEST!

You remeber that story of the fiancee and the dancer? How did that make you feel?
It made me physically sick.

reply

Can't believe nobody posted:

"Oh, come on, she's keeping the mink! I mean, if we take her for everything, she still comes out of it with a very very nice mink!"

And:

"Oh, I almost forgot! The man Chips can't do without! The whiz kid! Randy Bentwick! (Freddy extends his hand, Janet grasps his jaw and mouth) Unfortunately, Randy is a mute."

"Fellas, last year I made three million dollars. But your fifty thousand was the most fun. Are you ready? (Deeper voice) Then let's go get 'em."

Incidentally, Glenne Headly's sly little smile makes this scene what it is. Also, watch Janet's introduction to the movie -- as she puts her sunglasses back on, she gives this little look. It's perfect, seeming to say: "I'm ready for some action."

We must try something else; something a little more....stringent.

"Someone has been tampering with Hank's memories."

reply

No actual "lines", but the non-verbal, physical humor while Freddy was going through his "training". Hilarious! Puttin' on the Ritz being played in the background also added to this portion of the movie. Good stuff.

Sometimes you don't sound like you're kidding, you know, there's a lotta people around...

reply

Surprised no one mentions this line; there's not much to it, but I love it;

"WOW" "WOW" "All I can say is WOW'!!

Love this line!
