If this is a Christmas movie then why was it released in July?

I feel this would be taken more seriously as a Christmas movie if it was released in November or December instead of July.

The movie studios release their big blockbusters from May until August. However, since it is set in Christmastime it is a Christmas movie.

Look at it this way: Miracle on 34th Street (1947) was released in July and the studio tried to prevent people from realizing it was a Christmas movie.

A lot of films that are thought to be Oscar contenders are released late in the year. Action films are your traditional summer blockbusters.

For the same reason Halloween movies sometimes come out in July or August. Sometimes studio executives are just not bright.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie no matter what anyone says. Christmas movies are about Christmas.

in the 80's everyone was so high they celebrated christmas when ever they wanted
