During the scene when Cécile de Volange is confessing to the Marquise de Merteuil the terrible things the Vicomte de Valmont does to her at night, she looks up at the Marquise de Merteuil and for a split second, my brain registered Scarlett Johansson and not a young Uma Thurman.
Did anyone else think that Scarlett and a young Uma look very much alike?

Yes, I've always thought Uma and Scarlett resembled each other. But, I knew it wasn't Scarlett in the movie. She would have been way too young.

Of course she would have been far too young to be in this film; She was only 4 when it came out. My point was that there are certain facial features that, during that one moment while Uma was in candlelight, my brain registered it as Scarlett.

Both have thin blonde wispy hair. Both have blue eyes. Both have very pale skin. Both have very full lips. Both are pretty busty. Both have high cheekbones. So yes they do have a very similar look. Not exactly twins but similar. Uma is much taller and lean and Scarlett is shorter and a bit thicker.
I'd be pretty damn happy with either.
