Brian: "I left a can of Spam in the refrigerator. I hope the Brewer's Yeast doesn't take it personally."

Bonnie slaps him.

Someone want to elaborate on how this scene is supposed to make sense?

Lol. Glad to see someone else saw this on HBO today. I think Bonnie was just mad that he was very aloof about their relationship ending.

Here is the deal. Bonnie was an older woman, a cougar, trying to feel young by keeping a young stud like Cruise.

Brewer's yeast is a natural remedy for female menopause. In other words, she was getting old and trying to hang on to her womanliness. She was acutely aware of getting older, had no kids, etc.

Brian was just rubbing it in, that's all.

I always thought it was just a joke on Brian liking junk food, while Bonnie was a serious health nut!

And an inside joke on 'hoping they could break up quietly and her 'not take it personally'.
