See it as it is?

I just watched 'Cocktail' last night. Ok, it's certainly not the best movie ever made by far, but does anyone else like me last night just love to chill out after a hard day at work and watch this movie?? If you were young in the 80's it evokes all kinds of memories. Don't we sometimes, just want to forget today and reminisce a bit?

i actually loved this movie. elisabeth shue was my future wife back then (of course i was only a kid back then). the movie made the bar scene seem hip and happening yet most bars that i have ever been in are nothing like the kind in the movie. btw is it me or was the bar at the beginning a TGI fridays. same color outfits and the sign above the door had the word fridays in it.

Most people can see it as it is and just enjoy it. Others think they're too cool for school and want to bash it incessantly.

a genuinly fun film, must have seen it dozens of times over the years and it never gets old unlike some more 'worthy' efforts

I love this movie too
It's not great art.. but it's a damn good feelgood movie from my younger days. True 80's. Nice music too
Crazy..: a year after Cocktail, Tom Cruise did Born on the 4th of July
I think he's a very good actor with a wide range
