5% on Rotten Tomatoes is a joke!

Honestly, Cocktail isn't a great film. Far. far from it. It's empty headed, with a flimsy plot, but somehow, with Cruise on maximum charge, there's some indulgent 80's fun to be had. Who can deny a smile as Cruise and Bryan Brown entertain a bar full of patrons by performing cocktail tricks to Robert Palmers infectious power rock, Addicted to Love? It's dumb, but it's sometimes fun.

Here's my review for the film, NO spoilers.

5 out of 100 is about right. This movie is like a trainwreck, so horrific you can't look away. It doesn't even fall into the category of so bad it's good. I watch this and I'm like what the hell were they thinking? Tom Cruise is like the biggest dork ever, and everything he tried to pass off as cool was just embarrassing.

There are films far worse from the '80s (for example, the horrid "Endless Love" - Tom Cruise's debut film) that actually hold a higher rating than this one. Sure this isn't a great films by any means, but it's nowhere near as bad as the RT ratings suggest.

I personally thought it was decent. The script is very weak, but the film has enough good acting and entertaining scenes that make it worthwhile.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
