The Blob is still alive due to the freezer at the cafe

Even though they froze the big blob at the end of the remake, there's still pieces of the blob in the freezer at the cafe diner. the preacher did pick up a few pieces of the blob earlier in the movie

It was frozen and it's safe to assume it still would be when someone found it. Brian and Meg knew it was there, they would have reported it and it would have been disposed of the same as the big blob in the street.
