Did anyone watch this at the movie theaters?

This look like one of those type of 80's movies that would have been fun to watch at the movie theaters with a bunch of friends or a girlfriend or boyfriend.

The 80's was full of these high quality films I didn't realise at the time but now having experienced the noughties and the teenies these 80's cheese films just get better.

My film professor in college said he saw this in theaters with his friends and brothers and they all loved it and even saw it multiple times. He said nobody knew about it and the theaters were mostly empty.
