Did anybody see this in theatres when it came out?

If so what was it like?

reply

No, but I wish I had.... and it was shot just about 15 miles away from me.

reply

I wish I did! I was just a toddler so obviously could not go but I am sure that it was the type of film that was really fun on the big screen with a public reaction.

reply

I did, although I don’t remember the audience reaction. I know that I liked it.

I saw like 20 minutes of it on cable in 1989. I didn't pay much attention, I just assumed it sucked from the moment I read they were making it. Seemed like everyone thought the same back then. It wasn't until just a few years ago that I heard anyone say it was actually pretty good. I finally watched it for the first time over the weekend. Loved it.

Yes. It was quiet. Back then people didn't make as much noise as they do now. It's a good movie but the theater experience really doesn't stand out as being anything great.

My best theater experience was with The Dark Knight. The cheering and applause was fun and really didn't take away from enjoying the movie.

2nd best would be when my friend and I saw The Doors on opening night. It was packed, after we were herded in like cattle, people ran to find good seats. As soon as the lights went out people whipped out their pipes, joints, etc and lit up. My friend and I were hotboxed within minutes. Good times.
