Rewatched this yesterday. Underrated little gem of a monster movie.

I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and randomly thought about it the other day. I decided to see if it holds up as well as my child mind remembered it.

For an 80's teen monster movie, it's still quite entertaining and the special effects for the time were really good. The movie also does a good job of subverting expectations at the time, having the nice jock Paul who you think is the main character get killed in the first act was a nice move that I don't think was done much at the time. His death, I also thought was the scariest with how long the shot holds on him completely enveloped in the blob, reaching for Penny.

I know it's not The Thing, but it's still a good movie worthy of watching and getting a little more love than it has been getting.
