I love the narration

I just love the simplicity of the narration. This was a fantastic movie. I'm 25 and am discovering all these Woody Allem movies for the first time. This one is definitely one of my favourites!

The narration was subtly crafted, indeed. Notice in the beginning how much Marion leaves out or skirts around when she is giving the general details of her life (she brushes aside her brother in a couple of words, she mentions Claire, but glosses over the fact that she parted ways with her best friend with some dismissive comment about drifting away, she makes the briefest of references to her husband's "first marriage.")

Good points Bunny, I never looked at it that way. I'm so struck with the opening lines (can't do it word for word but you know what I mean "If you had asked me to take stock of my life I would say that I had achieved a reasonable amount of success personally and professionally, beyond that I don't care to delve" )that I guess I let the rest go by without noticing because the action of the film so beautifully destroys what she says about her personal life. Not much about her professionally!
I do notice the overly cutsie way she talks about meeting her husband. "he's a cardiologist, who some years ago took a look at my heart..." Yuck!
