hilarious

this film, though dark, has some really funny stuff. Ian Holm is horridly, wickedly cynical. Blythe Danner's role is small but catty. Lots of laughs, although guilty ones....

sandy dennis is bizarre - good actor, but she's so intense in even the subtlest scene that i don't know if i've ever seen her just 'being' in a scene...

"I.....accept your condemnation".

Great line, real funny.

We always see it in movies where one character says something, and then another character either repeats it back to their face as if to mock them, or we here them repeat it in mocking tones after the person has left the room, and people always do the "repeat mock" the same way, irregardless of how the first actor said it, but Gene Hackman's take on it with Gena at the snack table in the other room is awesome. He says it with such indignation at how priggish Ian Holm is.

I tend to watch all of Allen's movies as 'comedy', as the themes are often similar to the clearly 'funny' movies that he has made.

I never wept while watching "Interiors" (although I have often laughed out loud), but I wept during 'Annie Hall' and others.

My fave is the little gem when Betty Buckley comes in to return some vestigial items from her past. Very funny stuff if you are in the mood for laughter.

By the way...why doesn't he use Betty Buckley (or other great directors) in his current movies? She is a sturdy performer.

"What do you want me to do, draw a picture? Spell it out!"

Why you people are forget mentioning that the building superintendent 'crossed himself' when Lidia's husband tells him that 'this pipe doesn't need any repairing'?! , at the end of the 'making love on the living room' scene.
