AKIRA 1990ish BBC Premiere - Need info

I remember seeing Akira for the first time during a season of Japanese animation on BBC2 I think it was, in roughly 1990. I've been trying to find out what they called the season in an attempt to find the name of a short animation that showed one night in the same season. It involved a tall female assassin (maybe a robot/cyborg) attacking some kind of government type building and killing evryone. At the end she dies and goes to her own personal heaven, where we see her laying back being waited on and pampered.
Someone suggested it might be AEON FLUX, but that's not it. The animation was of a high quality and it was pretty graphic in content, from what I recall.

If anyone knows what I'm on about, or remember what the BBC season was called, that would be great.

Closest thing I can think of that you're describing is Ghost in The Shell. At the start it has a lady climbing down a building and breaking into a room killing some people, then jumping out turning invisible.

Been a while since I've seen it so that's probably not entirely accurate, but sounds like what you saw.

I should have updated. I've since been told it was in fact AEON FLUX. I didn't think it was, but I bought the Dvd's and it's definitely it. My mind must have altered it quite a bit over the 20 odd years since seeing it, because I remembered it being a lot slicker and a lot less weird. Still really like it though.
