Violent NON-JAPANESE cartoon movies?

Is there any animated movies with this kind of violence that aren't Japanese? Heavy Metal comes to mind...

reply

That's one I thought of but hadn't seen.

Dammit I know here's got to be others, I've had to have seen at least one. It seems pretty damn rare! No movie based on series seems violent, not even the South Park one IIRC.

...I can't really think of a single one. Someone might be able to refresh my memory though!

Afro Samurai IS Japanese (sorry to break that to you.) It was a manga and the studio that made the animation was GONZO which is also a Japanese company.

Fritz the cat and the sequel (Nine Lives of Fritz) have some violence, probably more of it in the sequel, along with a lot of sexual and drug content in both.

kududoodoo hit the nail on the head. American animators are too tame and boring compared to Japanese animators. You'll be hard pressed to find any decent violent American animation.

What about Western European and Eastern European/Russian animated films?

Sorry bro.

Aeon Flux maybe, i assumed it wasn't Japanese. That one's about as weird and random as it is violent too i still don't know what the hell was going on in some clips. if you've seen the movie, erase it from your head and watch the animated one. easy to find the whole series on torrents

reply

Yeah I was surprised to find out it wasn't Japanese.. I believe it was French... Apparently the vignettes aren't even totally related to one another and there's no continuity to them.

Aeon Flux was American. The guy who made it worked on Rugrats for Nickelodeon.

OP, i understand your question and have some recommendations for you:

turok: son of stone
dead space: downfall
dead space: aftermath

all 3 of those animated movies, especially turok, are violent and gory. the dead space movies have lots of cussing, too. also check out:

ultramarines: a warhammer 40,000 movie
resident evil: degeneration

those are both cgi and aren't nearly as violent as the first 3 but might be up your alley.
