Where in hell is this movie anti-male? It is a movie, and movies are concentrating usually on the main person in the film. And even the females are not shown flawless. Jodie Foster plays White Trash, if she would have been a nun, this movie had not happened. The situation that the rapist had a chance was because back then you were already guilty "when you dressed like whore". And also Kelly McGillis is not the super lawyer, who finds all the backdoors to get the rapists charged for 500 years, no, she prefers career over victim and made the deal without mentioning rape. Still these two are our main persons of the movie and thats why we see most of the time their perspective.
The movie would be anti-male, if even the good males would be massive assholes. Like Kelly finds out about Kens story, discuss it with him and he says: "screw you, i am not a snitch to my frat bro!" Or even worse, he openly lie in the court and tanks the case in favor of the spectators.
The movie is imo very realistisc, as everyone has their own agenda and it is also good presented why it is like that. Ken is afraid to be a snitch, but his concious is more important. The barkeeper is more important, that his bar does not get bad news and protects his patrons. The barkeeper lady is afraid in general and also believes that it was partly Jodis fault (the average person at the time) and the lawyers are all about money and career, not the people they represent.
