If You were Ken, wuld U have HELPED Sarah

I found it odd, that while Sarah was being raped, Ken just stood and watched in disgust. He was sober and all the guys were drunk so he could have the better of some (or maybe just those committing the crime)

Maybe he was in shock, or scared or didnt know what to do...but how could you just stand and watch something like that happen rite infront of you and not do anything about it, he could have helped Sarah or atleast ran into the next room and find some people to help--but he did nothing.

If U were in his situation, would you have helped her? and how?

reply

Since I'm a girl, I don't know how I would influence the guys to stop, but I would of got help immediately. I think Ken was in total shock of what happen, and how people cheered, at first he thought it was show, so it totally blew him away.

I definitely would have went and gotten help. And I'm a 20 year old woman. I wouldn't have tried to physically stop the attack because I definitely would have no chance of overpowering three men. I would have called the poilice and sought out some helpe from people who worked there. There is no excuse to just stand there and watch. To me, doing that is just as bad as cheering it on; you're not helping the situation.

Darkfalz is a troll who comes to this board because he likes winding people up by saying she deserved to get raped. Anybody who responds angrily to him is just giving him what he wants.

reply

I think he is just turned on by the rape scene. Some people like that sort of thing

Work Harder! Millions of people on welfare are depending on you

reply

Yes but I am turned on from a sense of righteousness perspective, nothing sexual.

reply

I would've been shocked for a second or two. Then out of pure surprise I would've instinctivly shout "RAPE!! RAPE!!" over and over again.

It's better than doing nothing.

reply

I guess I would have tried to make them "SNAP OUT OF IT"! Then I would have called 911. (Did they even have 911 back then?)

If U [sic] were in his situation, would you have helped her? and [sic] how?

I'd've beaten the everloving *beep* out of anyone who laid a hand on her.

As long as I could interfere while there were only one or two guys. There's no way I would try fighting three of them (even if they were drunk) unless I had a weapon.

In America in those days, if it were me who were Ken, i would carry a knife or a small gun. If i were him, i would have slaughtered the lot of them. Rape is a disgusting crime, i would not want any woman to go through it even my worst enemies. I have been in her position, i would have killed all those mother *beep* i wouldnt care less if i went to jail, because they deserve it!

Didn't Ken go outside and call the cops? That was the right thing to do.

He was right to call the cops but he should have done that straight away.

reply

He did, but after she was raped twice already and a third guy was doing it.

reply

He wasn't drinking himself? Well, maybe he was in shock as to what was going on and he froze up at first. Also, he was torn because his college buddy was the second one to rape Sarah and maybe he thought to himself, "If I go for help, I'm going to get my friend in trouble with the police. Should I stay or should I go?" Eventually, he decided to do it, although you can see he was fudging things to save his friend when he makes the call. He also doesn't try to get involved, it was Kathryn who found him out.

reply

Alot of people are like Ken - they don't want to get involved or are afraid to. I have a friend who lives in an apartment building. At night, he hears his neighbor beating on his wife. I've told him to call the police, but he says that he's "afraid that his neighbor will find out it's him and that he'll get in trouble." But in all honesty, if I were in his position, I would have called the cops the first day I heard about it. I would have done the same for Sarah, or atleast I'd like to think I would.
