jack would have loved trump

without a doubt

reply

He may have liked a few of his policies, but I doubt he would have liked Trump's persona or rhetoric.

reply

I don't think he would have voted Hillary over him!

reply

I agree. Jack would more than likely have voted for Trump over Hillary, but I personally can't imagine Jack being a massive Trump fan. Jack was quite a reserved guy so I don't think he would have been a fan of Trump's loud personality.

However, I agree that Jack would have liked several of his policies and ideas. He would have been a Trump voter and supporter, just not a Trump fan.

reply

Jack would have liked the tax cuts part. Don the Con Drumpf's unholy alliance with Mother Russia would have turned Jack off. Jack voted along Republican Party lines, but he wasn't a fanatical conservative.

reply

i bet kevin would be a jill stein supporter! 😱

I don't think so, he wasn't an inbred moron, gun nut and religious fanatic like the typical Trump supporter. He wasn't liberal but he wasn't an alt-right nutbar either. He would have supported a moderate Republican like Ford.

reply

Jack was anti communist would not have supported a president aligning with a former director of KGB Putin

He would have been impressed that Hillary adamantly opposed Trump and Putin's alliance during the election

And he certainly would oppose socialist Bernie.

reply

But Bernie was ostensibly on the same side as Hillary (he publicly endorsed her, despite what all the whiny centrist neolibs who run and front the mainstream media might tell you), so, like many middle-class white voters in 2016 who feared they had something to lose, anti-socialist Jack would most likely have backed Trump.

Also, the idea that Trump, a billionaire plutocrat who cuts taxes for the very rich, is somehow pro-communist is utterly absurd.

I'm no fan of Communism myself, but with all due respect, do you know what Communism is? Because it certainly isn't what either Trump or Putin are practicing.

reply

…..yes and Ford was fiscal moderate but social liberal. he opposed communism but supported reproductive rights, the Equal Rights Amendment, was not a bible thumper.

reply

The sad reality is that a lot of working and lower-middle-class married men don't give a damn about reproductive rights or civil rights.

That's not to say they're consciously misogynist or racist, but simply to say that most apolitical people (in other words, the majority of voters) simply want a government that is going to stay out of their business, or at least facilitate their lives.

I'm a progressive liberal/social-democrat, but the truth is that once you go beyond the twentysomething post-grad crowd, our numbers start to thin out quite significantly, particularly among married men and women.

Most married men and women care about their families and their mortgages, and that's it.

reply

A 'moderate Republican like Ford' wasn't an option in 2016, and the fact is that most registered Republicans backed Trump that year, including many fiscal conservatives who abhor Trump as an individual, and don't appreciate some of his more divisive and crass rhetoric.

When you can Trump supporters 'inbred morons' you ironically express the same two-dimensional bigotry and prejudice Trump displays.

Sorry, but the world is much more complicated than either you, or Trump, see it.
