What happened to this show?

Sorry, this has probably been discussed a thousand times on here, but I wanted to throw in my opinion since this show has been around forever and I grew up with it.

Ever since they had to change from Robert Stack to Dennis Farina, it just simply ruined the show. Stack's voice and the eeriness of it is what made it great. It has a completely different feel and is nothing like what it used to be. I literally can't even watch now. Didn't they even change from the original theme music? The new narrator sounds awful and his voice doesn't match or go along with a show of this type. I remember watching unsolved mysteries as a kid and it would scare the *bleep* out of me! The theme music, the narrators creepy voice, etc. So sad they ruined it! It was incredible back in the day.

I'm watching right now and I completely agree. Doesn't feel like the same eerie show from when I was a kid.

You're another idiot and illiterate poster. You need to learn English, or you need to learn how to proofread.

When you were a child, they didn't teach you to use pronouns, you moron?

Nothing against Farina, but the new episodes they did (or repackagings, which is what they really are) were cheap and pointless. I also agree that they didn't have the same affect as the original Robert Stack episodes did, and it's not just nostalgia or distorted memories of the show that led me to that conclusion. I actually have a bunch of DVD-Rs that someone gave to me for Christmas one year which contain hours and hours of the old episodes from VHS broadcasts. I went through a period this past spring where I was watching them every night in my apartment, and I would get so creeped out by some of the episodes that I'd have to turn it off. I don't know what it is exactly, but so many of those original episodes are still blood chilling to me.

If the episodes must be referred to as "new," that word alone isn't enough; instead, I suggest referring to them as "NINO" or "new in name only." Anyway, I couldn't agree with you more that the repackaged episodes were "cheap and pointless." It goes to show that most viewers care so much about production values that they will not settle for cheapness under any circumstances.

It's ironic that you say value, with your poor writing. You should worry about learning English before you go talking about anyone else's lack of quality.

Effect, not affect.

Not only was Farina irritating and stupid, but so is the idiocy of saying literally, or when it is not required, you dope. You used both in the same sentence like a retarded idiot. You seem like the type who would have preferred the dopey sounded Farina, so that you could feel at home.
