There was a youtube channel called vintage90s that had tons of UM playlists with 50 hours of episodes. Well all that changed this evening. The channel has been taken down, along with pretty much every trace of unsolved mysteries. I used to watch a playlist every night and fall asleep, now what am I going to do? Anyone know another place to watch these old episodes?
I've slapped myself on the head many times for having failed to download the episodes when I had the chance. I always procrastinated by having promised myself that I would download them later, and then the next thing I knew they were gone.
I like to know why YT decided to take them down ?
Someone watching an old episode might jog their memory or something that could help solve a case. Instead the pricks decided lets take them all down. YT is total crap right now.
You don't have to change who you are, everyone else does.
According to the official Facebook page (Which probably is ran by Cosgrove Meurer Productions) the show was produced through the different TV guilds (SAG, WGA, etc) there's a clause in their contract that doesn't allow the episodes to be placed on Youtube.
Unless a DVD distributor takes interest or Netflix approaches them, we can't see them online.
I have about 100 hours worth of episodes on fifteen different DVD-Rs that my stepdad burned for me years ago. They're old VHS rips, so it's just like you're watching them in the '90s. I believe there are torrents out there of them if you do that—if not, there is a guy selling what appears to be the same set that I have on ioffer.com—it's $30, but you get a LOT of episodes for the price.
I was talking about Unsolved Mysteries while out to eat a few months ago. Some guy near by over heard me. He said he spent hours downloading the torrents. He said they were poor quality and based on the amount of time downloading (took a few weeks he said), burning them (took days to burn all of them) that it just wasn't worth it. He would have rather spend money to buy them.
I'm happy with what I see on Youtube and what airs on Lifetime. I think it's cool your stepdad burned them on DVD for you. My dad found the show creepy and never understood why I loved it.
