I didn't realize dads didn't have rights

to their kids.

I watch this show on Cozi on weeknights. I've seen at least 2 episodes the last few months where not only are Roseanne and Jackie denying there's rights, they are portrayed as in the right.

First episode Dan is scolded by Jackie because Roseanne was pregnant and he - her HUSBAND - dared to have an opinion on whether she should have an abortion or not. She dead ass yelled at Dan for having an opinion about his unborn child, whom HIS WIFE was carrying.

In a later episode, Fred is seen as the bad guy because he sues Jackie for saying she wont' let him see their kid when he is born. They are fighting for some reason, so Jackie just says he won't be able to see his kid. He threatens to sue as a result. He's the bad guy.

Some pretty whacked out ideas about a dad's role in a child's life.

Fathers do have rights to their kids, in regards to Dan and Roseanne - Her body, her choice. There's heaps of guys out there who impregnate their wives/girlfriends who abandon them shortly either before, or after the birth of their child and leave the new mother with no support whatsoever. Abortion is still a very controversial topic to discuss in this day, and age because you don't want to bring a child into a world where its going to be neglected, abused, unloved, etc.

His wife, his kid. They were married. Had 3 kids. She wasn't some woman from a bar he never saw again. It's not unreasonable for a husband to have a say in his child's life.

This isn't a real argument.
