Worst Southern Accent

...If there were an award for that, this show would win. Worst Southern accent since Gomer Pyle's steady girlfriend on "Gomer Pyle USMC (1964)".

There are thousands of American actors in Hollywood, USA; I'd offer a surmise that more than a few are from Southern states.Too bad the dialect coach they hired for this show didn't get the job done. I enjoy the show overall, but cringe when I hear some of the characters speak - the European-American ones, that is. African-Americans in the rural South also have distinct dialects (one can hear pretty good samples in "The Color Purple (1985)"), but I don't know that I would attempt it if I were creative director of a series.
