If Jim Davis ever considers about bringing Lyman back and in a speaking role for the next animated special/series, who do you think should voice him for it?

I never said that there was going to be a new cartoon, though it was a hypothetical question, thus why I asked who would be the best canidate to voice Lyman if Jim Davis considers of returning him.

what, is lyman the original guy who had odie in the first set of garfield comic strips????
I doubt there well be a new show without Lorinzo Music(R.I.P.)doing the voice of Garfeild it would be a no go not to mention the fact that the only for the show to come back is if the Garfield live action movie did well(which it didn't).
Yep, Lyman was Odie's owner in the comics, yet Jim Davis apparently got fed up with him and had him leave on 1983, though he does make quite a few cameos here and there (the logo of the Sunday strip of Garfield's 10th birthday, Garfield's Scary Scavenger Hunt 1, etc.)
Yes, the unfortunate death of Lorenzo Music is probably the main reason that there might not be another special or series of Garfield, since it will probably be hard to replace him. And it seems likely if the Garifeld movies are succesful, and I don't know about that.

good point, the Garfeild Movie(s) don't seem to be goingt o well, Although I love Bill muirray vociing Garfeild(he was perfect) but I wasn't impressed with Breckyin Myer as Jonand Jennifer the love hewitt as Liz, they did not portray them rigtht at all, hell I guesss they never even heard oif Garfeild when they were kids and teenagers and even till the were offered the part.
It's a sham,e that Jim carrey had to turn down the part of Jon, but then agian Lemony Snicket's a series of unfortunate events ahd to be made, jim sure looked like Jon and in alot of his films he's like a live action version of what Jon is.
lets not forget Hewitt, she was terrible as Liz, Liz was never perky or the very happy kind of type.
she was realy the person who just wanted a cup of coffee and the I want some space typw of person whow as strong inside. Jennifer showed no side of that.
I would've chosen Selma Blair as Liz she reminds me of her in someway.
so yeah the Garfeild films don't really quite are becoming very popular. so no NEW series.

I was hoping this would be a multi-replying board, since I'd like to hear more recommendations of who would be a good voice actor for Lyman IF Jim Davis ever decides to bring him into a Garfield special/series. Of course, since the ratings of the movie are questionable, so is the condition of a new series. Though it's not just finding someone to replace Lorenzo Music or Scott Beach. There's also Howard Morris (Wade/Wart/Fox/Worm), Pat Buttram (Cactus Jake), etc.
So if anyone else would like to respond on a voice actor for Lyman, feel free to give on!
