Does anyone remember when this show was on Nickelodeon?
Does anyone remember when this show use to run on Nickelodeon weekday afternoons? I think it ran on that network until 2000 and it would later be picked up by Toon Disney.

shareHey, this show did air on Nickelodeon, that's how I came aquainted with it along with Inspector Gadget. For some reason it left the air and then later aired on ABC family, then UPN, and now on Toon Disney. I don't remember the time slot, though it was an after-school series at the time. I don't think I saw this when it originally aired on CBS.

I sure do . . . I think Nickelodeon picked it up around December 1997 or January 1998. I am 100% certain it was around that time because I remember I was in 3rd grade and I would watch it at my babysitter's house after school. I just can't remember what time of year it was. The OP is correct about it going off the air in 1999 or 2000 and then I remember seeing it again briefly in fall 2001 on ABC Family then on Toon Disney in 2005. Now since no station will ever air it at least we have it on DVD.
I even remember watching it on Weekday mornings before school in spring 1996 when it was on TBS (I think). I was still in 1st grade.

Heh, my guess was 2000 when they stopped airing it... I guess I had a good guess!
shareI remember being a kid waking up early to watch this on Saturday morning cartoons. They had some great cartoons. Now they have almost nothing. They show Hannah Montanna and other mainstream garbage.

Yeah it was significant for me that Garfield and Friends airing on Nickelodeon was the last thing I watched when my parents had our cable box taken off, we finally got it back five years later.
shareNo, but I remember watching one episode before Snorks when it came on Boomerang. The only thing I remember of the episode was the Screaming with Binky that the episode had about a golf course. Ironically, I didn't know much about U.S. Acres before I found an ad break with a 5 second Orson clip last May, because I only ever watched the Garfield segments and mostly got the complimation DVDs with only Garfield on it and watched some episodes on YouTube. Four episodes I remember were "Binky Gets Cancelled, Again!", "Mistakes Will Happen", "The Picnic Panic" and "The Garfield Opera". (I often get the latter two segments' songs stuck in my head!)
shareOh my gosh, you are all so young. "Does anyone remember when this show was on Nickelodeon?" No, but I remember watching them when they were new on Saturday mornings on ABC, probably 10 years before they were on Nickelodeon...
That was early 90s, maybe 90-93?
Whippersnappers.
I actually just checked this show out on imdb because I'm watching them with my son and I had to see if Jon Arbuckle was voiced by Sam Champion. He isn't, but it sure sounds like him.
It was on CBS not ABC (unless you're Australian?). It came on around 11:00. Now do you remember the prime-time Garfield specials?
George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.
Ha! I'm such a loser because I don't remember what channel Garfield was on when I was 8 years old 20 years ago... Nope I don't remember prime time specials. I hear Abu Dabi calling your name.
shareI didn't say you were a loser. I'm just correcting the network. I didn't insult you at all. You're being a bit overly defensive.
George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.
Of course. I used to watch it, whenever it was on. It's an excellent show.
Volker Flenske: (While torturing David) I don't know why you're doing this to yourself!
I definitely remember watching it on Nickelodeon, that was when I first heard about Garfield and Friends
