Got Really Dark Starting 3rd Season

This show absolutely glued me to my seat the whole time I watched it, so I went through it a second time. I got 6 episodes into the 3rd season though and I had to turn it off for a while. The two early episodes had the VC and NVA using innocent civilians as pawns and scapegoats and the white mice took these non-combatants away and tortured/imprisoned them without even bothering to listen to their side of the story. This happens especially with the 2-part episode that has Haing Ngor, where the US & South Vietnamese renege on their open arms policy. I'm sorry, but those episodes upset me too much.
Then again, I think that was the whole point of the show was to pull no punches.

P.S.=I have always wondered how things would've gone down in that country had Uncle Sam not stuck its nose in their business.
