Why didn't Al Capone have any scars on his face?
Wasn't that a defining characteristic?
shareCapones scar was not Joker-like, much more subtile. Likely easily to hide by make-up. As I am aware, he was only named Scarface to mock him.

I'm looking at photos of the real Capone and any scars he had on his face weren't that dramatic.
You can see a faint line here on his left cheek. Most photos I find show the right side of his face, interestingly.

From the movie, you can see a similar, even more noticeable scar on DeNiro's left cheek.
