Nobody expects kids to solve their own social problems in real life.
In real life, Jerry would cry like a baby and tell all the teachers and run home and tell his parents. The police would be called and buddy would go to jail for "bullying". Then Jerry would take part in a documentary about bullying called "Bully". Also Jerry would spend at least 8 hours a day playing his playstation and wouldn't have any actual friends so he wouldn't be going to a party at some girl's house.

In real life, bullies usually have far more self esteem than they rate, and they're bigger and stronger than the kids they pick on. All you can hope for is that one day they'll underestimate some kid and get their ass handed to them. Unfortunately, it rarely goes down like in the movies, and the best you can do is avoid them as much as possible.
