Does anyone else agree with me that this was NOT such a bad film?
I watched it when I was younger, and I honestly thought that it was an enjoyable movie. Anyone else agree with me?

shareThis is possibly my favorite '80s teen comedy.
shareThis is one of those movies that I classify as "so bad it's good."
It's truly a horrible movie. And I love it.
Who said it was a bad film?
shareThe first time I loved it an I had to have been almost 10? just watched it again almost 20 years later and loved it even more.
shareTotally agree. It's a great 80s teen film. I know it doesn't get a lot of attention but I don't know anyone personally who outrightly dislikes it.
shareI think the movie's weakest link is the motivation of the antagonist to beat up Buddy.
We know really soon that he's an A-hole with an attitude, but he's not really much of a bully in the traditional sense and is actually more of an introvert. Turning him into an automaton as soon as Buddy touches him cheapens the conflict imho. Even with other 80s teen fight movies like The Karate Kid (a series I personally hated btw) the antagonists were bullies who misrepresented the martial art of Karate and in turn showed us another level of corruption and downfall that contrasted to Daniel's eagerness to learn and be disciplined by an older mentor.
In 3OH the movie is nothing more than a ticking time bomb and Buddy has to find a solution for deactivating it. Even in the final fight scene where he lands a lucky punch it came across as a cheaper version of the fight between Marty and Biff in Back to the Future.
It's great. It has tension, humor, absurdity, and a likeable cast.
